He added all local and district security personnel in Jalalabad had been reshuffled after the incident. From now on, district security personnel would be held responsible for crimes in areas under their jurisdiction.
JALALABAD: Nangarhar Governor Ziaul Haq Amarkel on Wednesday told security official to stand down if they failed to arrest the killers of three female journalists.
On Tuesday, unidentified gunmen shot dead three female workers of a private television channel in third police district of Jalalabad, the provincial capital.
The police claimed capturing a Taliban member in connection with the triple murder. The Taliban, however, have denied involvement in the shooting.
Amarkhel tweeted today that the security organs had been ordered to capture the killers of the innocent girls immediately or resign their positions.
“The enemy resorts to in violent attacks after being defeated in districts. But we hope the public will assist the security personnel in ensuring security,” he concluded.
